A special day in April is right around the corner. It’s called “Administrative Professionals Day” and within the last decade or so, it has gravitated towards Administrative Professionals Week. The celebrated week this year, is April 24-30 and the actual day is Wednesday April 27, 2016.
Do you know the history of this worldwide celebrated day?
Quick history lesson…. I PROMISE:
During World War II, there was an increased need for skilled administrative personnel, particularly in the United States. In 1952, Harry F. Klemfuss an account executive at Young & Rubicam recognized the importance and value of the position to a company or business. His goal was to encourage more women to become secretaries. Using his skill and expertise in public relations, Klemfuss promoted the values and importance of the job of secretaries. In doing so he also created the holiday in recognition to the importance of these ladies.
History lesson over.
